OVERVIEW
The parts nobody sees until they fail
Drains, vents and water services are buried, boxed in or underground, and when they go wrong the damage is rarely small. Bitas Plumbing installs and repairs complete drain, waste and vent systems, water service lines from the street into the building, sewer lines, and the pumps that move waste where gravity cannot.
On new construction this is the first plumbing on site. On existing buildings it is usually a repair or a replacement of something that has reached the end of its life.

THE DETAIL
Signs of a drain or sewer problem
These usually mean something structural rather than a simple clog:
- More than one fixture backing up at the same time
- Gurgling from a toilet when you run a sink or the washing machine
- Sewer smell inside the building, which often means a venting or trap problem
- Water surfacing in the yard along the line of the sewer or water service
- A drain that clears and then blocks again within weeks
- Sudden drop in water pressure or a jump in the water bill

FAQ
Common questions
Several drains are backing up at once. Is that the main sewer line?
Very often, yes. When multiple fixtures back up together the blockage is usually downstream in the main line rather than at any one fixture. That needs diagnosing properly before anything else.
Can you replace a water service line?
Yes. From the street or the meter into the building, including the excavation and reinstatement. Old galvanised or undersized services are a common cause of poor pressure throughout a property.
Do you install sump pumps and ejector pumps?
Yes, including the basin, check valve and discharge piping. We also replace failed pumps, which is a common emergency call after heavy rain.
Why does my bathroom smell of sewer even though nothing is blocked?
Usually a dry trap, a failed wax seal or a venting problem. Venting faults are common in older buildings and in work that was not done to code, and they need correcting rather than masking.
