Burst pipe? No heat? No hot water?
We answer the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends and holidays.
OVERVIEW
No hot water is an emergency. We treat it like one.
A failed water heater is one of the most common calls we get, and it rarely happens at a convenient time. Bitas Plumbing replaces and repairs both standard tank water heaters and tankless units, including the gas piping, venting and water connections that go with them.
We will also tell you honestly whether you need a repair or a replacement. A leaking tank is a replacement. A failed thermocouple, gas valve or heating element often is not.

THE DETAIL
Tank or tankless: which one is right?
There is no single right answer. It depends on your house, your gas supply and how much hot water you actually use.
- Tank heaters cost less up front and are simpler to service
- Tankless units save space and give continuous hot water for high demand
- Tankless needs adequate gas supply and a proper vent path, and not every house has it
- Electric vs gas depends on what is already at the property
- An indirect tank is often the best option if you already have a boiler
- We size on fixture count and simultaneous demand, not guesswork

FAQ
Common questions
How long does a water heater last?
A standard tank water heater typically lasts around 8–12 years; tankless units usually last longer with maintenance. Age plus rusty water, rumbling or moisture at the base usually means replacement is close.
My water heater is leaking. What should I do right now?
Shut off the water supply to the heater and, for a gas unit, turn the gas control to off. Then call us on (617) 771-9820. A leaking tank will not repair itself and usually gets worse quickly.
Is a tankless water heater worth it?
It can be, for continuous hot water, space savings and efficiency. But it needs enough gas supply and the right venting, and the install cost is higher. We will tell you if your property suits one rather than just selling you one.
Do you replace water heaters on weekends?
Yes. No hot water counts as an emergency for us, and we answer 24/7.
